My friend JT works for American Apparel corporate, but for some reason he had never been down town to the fashion district. I took him for a walk around. Unfortunately, the wholesale building that I knew he would like wasn’t open. It was a short trip.
After we walked through town a bit, we decided to go visit his friend. She lived in a studio apartment in downtown LA. The place was really ugly on the outside, but on the inside it was really nice. They had a huge open space with big windows that had just been replaced, so the blinds had not yet been installed. The natural light was amazing. Unfortunately, I think they paid like $1,500 in rent a piece and that included only one parking spot. They had two people in the apartment which means one person will have to move their car every morning at 8:00am. I guess that is the price you pay for prime location.
After that we went to get Pho at this place called Blossom. Pho is a Vietnamese rice noodle soup it comes with basil leaves, jalapeño peppers and sprouts that you can add to your liking. I utilized the hot sauce and this sweet almost barbeque like sauce into the broth, it was really good. I also got coconut milk which comes in an actual coconut with a straw, awesome. We finished our meal off with a vegan cupcake from Baby Cakes, which was too good to be true.
-Good food, good friends.
