Happy Halloween! I went to West Hollywood, which is notorious for having huge Halloween celebrations. The normal bus route had been shut down because they had closed the street down, so I had to walk about a mile to where I needed to be. I was welcomed to the festival by a heavy set man dressed poorly as a woman wearing a thong and the outline of a bra it just didn’t cover anything.
People were already tons of people on Santa Monica blvd and it was only 5pm. There were a lot more men dressed as women who were far more convincing. There were so many beautiful costumes and great make up it was over whelming. As it got to be around 8:00pm it stated to get really packed. At some points you just had to slowly trudge your way through the crowd. It was like starting a road race with 1 million (there really was that many) people who were all walkers. It was horrible. Luckily I am not claustrophobic.
They had different stages playing music and people had dance competitions which were fun to watch. There was The Rocky Horror Picture Show (TRHPS) at one stage; you always need that during Halloween. I was actually part of breaking the Guianese book of world records for the number of people singing TRHPS together.
At 11:00pm the whole affair was supposed to end and it did thin out, but I spent the night in WEHO and I can tell you that it did not stop at 11:00pm.
