I have been reading Fashion For Profit, by Frances Harder. It is a book for start up fashion companies. It has great content and sources in it. Anyway, today I was reading about jobbers. These are the people who buy the ends of fabric from garment manufacturing companies for a reduced rate.
These jobbers then go back and sell this fabric to small businesses or the home sewer. This allows “you” the small company to buy fashion fabric in smaller amounts. This also give you the ability to buy fabric at whole sale prices. I looked a few up online sites and found some worth looking into. Unfortunately it is past 5pm on a Saturday, so I will have to wait until Monday. Boo.
Either way this book has given me new topics to search online, which is a big help.
